I created a wireframe for an Insulin Calculator app which my partner created. This was initially created as I am type one diabetic and I was taking a break from my insulin pump and was administering insulin from injections for a week. I found that it was a lot more difficult to figure out how much insulin I needed at meal times, how much correction to give myself if my blood sugar went too high, and how much to lower my insulin dose by if I had low blood sugar.
For someone who has an insulin pump, the pump will work all of this out automatically, but for people on injections full time, they have a much more difficult time. As my boyfriend is a software engineer, he created an app which could work all this out for you (with or without a pump), using your insulin settings, and I created a wireframe for the app. I kept a fairly neutral colour scheme whilst still having a friendly user experience, to make this app tailor to both children and adults with type one diabetes.
This is not currently on the market due to health apps needing to go through a lot of approval before being available, but it is something we will hopefully look into in the future. This was one of my first experiences working with wireframes and UX design and I am really happy with how the design turned out.
